Land

Photographing land honestly and clearly

A practical shot list for fields, woodland, paddocks and plots.

Updated 17 September 2026

Show the whole offer

Begin with an overview that helps someone understand the land. Add views across the parcel from more than one direction, then show the entrance and important features. Photograph recent conditions; do not rely on an attractive old image that no longer represents the site.

Useful supporting photographs

  • The agreed access point and approach, where you have permission.
  • Changes in levels and visible ground conditions.
  • Existing structures included in the sale.
  • Watercourses, trees and other significant features.
  • A clearly labelled plan if you have the right to publish it.

Keep the evidence honest

Do not use AI-generated land images, remove inconvenient features or imply neighbouring land is included. A line on a marketing image should be described as illustrative, with the legal extent left to the appropriate documents and advisers.

Respect other people

Avoid identifiable people, vehicle registrations and private neighbouring spaces where possible. Obtain the necessary permissions before entering land or commissioning aerial work. Upload only media you are authorised to publish.
